No Fever Today!

I am trying not to get too excited, but today is the first day that I actually got cold. I haven't had the sensation of being cold since the last I can remember in April. I have had a bladder infection since April/May that I know of, and have been having consistent fevers for the past year+. We haven't been able to pinpoint if it is the constant underlying infection that I am fighting or fevers from the Lupus. My Rheumy told me that I will probably have fevers forever from Systemic Lupus without knowing the actual cause. I have had three rounds of antibiotics with the most recent being finished this past Friday. Unfortunately, other abdominal pains have made it impossible to tell if the infection is really clear. Today has been a pretty active day by my standards with a Costco run, a full evening of moving around, along with agonizing completion of multiple insurance forms from the car accident. Usually, when I get busy and move for more than 10-15 minutes the fever intensifies to 101.5 degrees and I have to just sit down and try to bring my heart rate down and eventually my fever will settle in around 99.5 degrees. I am so hopeful that my fever will continue to stay down and the infection is truly clear. For the first time my temperature is @ 98.6 tonight and I am feeling "normal". "YES NORMAL". I don't want to jinx myself by saying it, but I wanted to let you all know the good news. It seems like a little thing, but it is such a relief! I am so happy and I wanted to share it will all you that keep up with my blog. There is always so much sadness and pain with elusive Lupus. TonightI will take it for what it is...appreciate the gift...even if is just for tonight. It is about time to cut me some slack.
